Well, yang aku maksud disini Natalan di kantor-nya suamiku, ini kali kedua aku ikut berpartisipasi...aku udah lupa kapan terakhir ikut Natalan di kantor di Solo di mana aku bekerja, but 'yes' sedikit berbeda tentunya.
This was the second time I attended Office Christmas Party, I forgot when was the last time I had Office Christmas Party when I lived in Indonesia, but 'yes' certainly a little bit difference.
Berhubung tahun ini suamiku jadi panitia, jadi aku ya ikut ikutan jadi 'ibu' panitia, datang awal dan pulang terakhir..hiks!,..ga apa, buat pengalaman.
This year, my hubby was one of the among fellow co-workers who arrange the party, so we came early and back home late,..it's okay for me, once in while.Yang bikin aku tersenyum, soalnya ada acara 'karaokenan'...jadi inget di Indonesia,
Mr. Shinji Uuno, the karaoke man setting up the machine |
'karaoke' udah begitu 'membudaya' meskipun asalnya dari Jepang. Kali ini mesin karaoke disewa dari orang Jepang yang punya bisnis karaoke di Seattle, namanya Shinji Uuno (semoga ga salah tulis nich!..), kalo musim holiday season gini, bisnis-nya Shinji-san, rame dech!
What made me 'smile' was we had 'karaoke' as a part of the fun party, ...I remember in Indonesia, karaoke is very 'famous'...people who can't sing will have fun, pretend to be a real singer. This time, we borrow the karaoke machine from Japanese who has this bussiness in Seattle, he came and set up the machine and came back after we finished.
The party arrangers |
It's jus simple party, a short speech from one of the supervisor, and music, meal, karaoke, taking picture.
tables covered by Christmas garlands |
Oh..ya, I forgot to take a picture of the goodies on the table, ..that's too bad, the meal was good, there were barbeque meatballs, swedish meatballs (I love this..!), chicken satay with spicy sauce, variety of cheese, crackers, fruit platter and number of deserts.
Sometimes it's not wise to keep comparing Christmas celebration in here and in Indonesia where I come from, (kinda missed it..) the most important is you can 'feel the peace', we shared laugh and smile and entertained others...(I was braved enough to sing on stage with my hubby, we sang 'Jingle Bell Rock'...ha..ha..).
The point is this is the season to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, if you can make yourself as a 'peace maker' among your family and friends, you're really have 'Christmas' in your soul...!
